The Silent Hill remake could arrive in 2027, according to a new report about the upcoming survival horror game. Developer Bloober Team is reportedly targeting next year for the remake of Konami’s original 1999 horror classic. The report also identifies two actors who may be involved in the project, although their roles remain unconfirmed. Konami has not officially announced a release date or window.
The project aims to bring the original Silent Hill experience to modern gaming audiences. It follows the commercial and critical success of Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2, which launched in 2024.
Silent Hill remake reportedly targets 2027
According to a report from MP1st, the remake is targeting a 2027 release. The project reportedly uses the production codename “Project Noise.”
However, players should treat this timeline as provisional. Konami has confirmed that the remake is in development, but it has not announced an official launch date. Development schedules can also change before a game reaches release.
The original Silent Hill debuted on the PlayStation in 1999. It introduced players to the eerie town, unsettling atmosphere and psychological horror that became hallmarks of the franchise.
Two actors reportedly join the project
The latest report names Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew as actors attached to the remake. However, it does not confirm which characters they will portray.
Fritz has previous video game credits, including work on Battlefield 2042 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Matthew has appeared in television productions, including Doctors and EastEnders.
The casting report has not established who will play Harry Mason, the original game’s protagonist. Konami and Bloober Team have yet to provide a complete cast list or detailed information about the remake’s story and gameplay.
Bloober Team returns to Silent Hill
Bloober Team is developing the remake in collaboration with Konami. The Polish studio previously worked on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which received positive reviews and helped renew interest in the franchise.
Konami confirmed the original Silent Hill remake in June 2025. At the time, the company announced the project without revealing gameplay footage, screenshots or a release window.
The studio now faces the challenge of modernising a landmark horror game while preserving the atmosphere that made the original memorable. Fans will be watching for details about its visual design, combat, exploration and approach to the original story.
Konami plans more Silent Hill games
The remake forms part of Konami’s broader effort to expand the Silent Hill franchise. The company has released several projects in recent years, including Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall.
In an October 2026 interview, series producer Motoi Okamoto said Konami was considering additional projects following the first wave of releases. He indicated that the company was exploring further development opportunities but did not reveal specific titles or launch dates.
A 2027 launch for the original remake would continue the franchise’s recent momentum. However, Konami has not confirmed that schedule.
What to expect next
The next major update could reveal more about the remake’s gameplay, cast, platforms and release plans. For now, the reported 2027 target offers an indication of the project’s possible timing rather than a confirmed launch date.
Fans should wait for an official announcement from Konami or Bloober Team before treating the release window as final.
