Amazon has unveiled five new Alexa devices, expanding its smart-home lineup with artificial intelligence (AI), home monitoring and personalised features. Announced on October 28, 2026, the lineup includes an upgraded Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera, Echo Time smart clock, Alexa Photo Frame and a redesigned Echo Show 16.

The new devices aim to make Alexa more useful in everyday life. For example, users can enjoy improved voice interactions, monitor their homes and manage family routines. Meanwhile, Amazon is expanding its smart-home ecosystem with features designed for different rooms and household needs.

Amazon upgrades the Echo Dot with AI

The next-generation Echo Dot features Amazon’s custom AZ3 silicon. This chip includes an AI accelerator designed to improve voice interactions and reduce background noise.

Additionally, the speaker includes a built-in smart-home hub and an eero Wi-Fi extender. The extender can provide up to 1,000 square feet of additional coverage. Amazon also claims the new model delivers 50% more bass than its predecessor.

The Echo Dot is priced at $99.99 in the United States.

Echo Studio combines sound and home monitoring

The Echo Studio with Home Camera combines a premium smart speaker with camera-based features. Through the Alexa app, users can check a room remotely.

Furthermore, Alexa’s visual capabilities can help users identify objects and access contextual assistance. The device also retains Dolby Atmos audio and features designed to adapt sound to its surroundings.

Amazon has priced the Echo Studio with Home Camera at $249.99 in the United States.

Echo Time introduces sleep sensing

Echo Time is a bedside smart clock designed to support morning and nighttime routines. Its sleep-sensing technology can detect lighter sleep and wake users before their scheduled alarm.

Users can set a wake-up window between 10 and 60 minutes before their alarm. In addition, the clock features a customisable display that gradually brightens to simulate a sunrise.

Echo Time starts at $199.99 in the United States. Meanwhile, the Kids edition is priced from $209.99.

Alexa Photo Frame displays digital memories

The Alexa Photo Frame features a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen with Alexa integration. It syncs photos from Amazon Photos and can automatically select images to display.

Users can also request pictures of specific people, pets or trips. As a result, finding favourite memories becomes easier.

Additionally, Amazon says the device can filter out unwanted images, including screenshots and receipts. This helps keep the displayed photo collection more relevant.

Echo Show 16 receives a redesigned display

The redesigned Echo Show 16 features a 16-inch high-definition display and built-in Fire TV. It also includes an updated smart-home dashboard.

Users can customise the screen to show family calendars, chores, meal plans and digital photos. Consequently, the device can serve as both an entertainment screen and a household organiser.

Amazon says the new model offers 20% more processing power for interactions. It also features an upgraded camera with auto-framing and night vision.

The Echo Show 16 starts at $499.99 in the United States. However, the Nanomatte version costs $569.99.

Alexa expands its role in the smart home

All five devices support Amazon’s latest Alexa experience. The updated assistant brings improvements to conversational interactions and assistance with more complex, multi-step requests.

Moreover, compatible devices can display relevant visual information alongside voice responses. This approach aims to make interactions more useful in everyday situations.

The new lineup also reflects Amazon’s broader smart-home strategy. Instead of focusing only on speakers, the company is expanding Alexa into bedrooms, living rooms and shared family spaces.

India availability remains unconfirmed

Amazon has announced US prices for the new devices. However, Indian pricing and availability have not yet been confirmed.

Therefore, buyers in India will need to wait for further details about a possible local launch. US prices may also differ from eventual Indian prices because of taxes, import costs and regional pricing.

For now, the launch expands Amazon’s Echo ecosystem with a mix of AI-powered interactions, connected-home features and devices designed for specific everyday tasks.
