Sony has unveiled its new transparent PS5 controllers as part of the Prism Collection. The lineup features translucent DualSense wireless controllers and matching PS5 console covers. The designs bring back the see-through gadget trend popular in the late 1990s.

Sony introduces three transparent PS5 designs
The Sony Prism Collection features three colour options: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. Each design combines a transparent exterior with a glossy finish.
Additionally, metallic detailing gives the controllers a distinctive appearance. The translucent shells reveal parts of the hardware inside, creating a retro-inspired look.
According to Sony, the collection takes inspiration from transparent electronics popular during the late 1990s. However, the designs adapt that aesthetic to the modern PlayStation 5.
PS5 Prism Collection includes matching console covers
Alongside the controllers, Sony is introducing matching PS5 console covers in all three colours. As a result, players can coordinate their consoles with their new accessories.
Flare Orange offers a bright, vibrant appearance. Emerald Green provides a deeper finish, while Graphite Gray delivers a darker alternative. Each option combines translucent elements with metallic detailing.
However, the collection focuses on appearance rather than new controller features. Sony has not announced changes to the DualSense controller’s core functionality.
Sony reveals Prism Collection prices
Sony has announced the following recommended retail prices for the new accessories:
- DualSense wireless controllers: $84.99
- PS5 console covers: $74.99
However, prices may vary by retailer and region. Sony has not confirmed India-specific pricing in its announcement.
The console covers will be sold directly through PlayStation in supported markets. Meanwhile, selected retailers may offer limited quantities in other regions.
Pre-orders open on November 10
Pre-orders for the Prism Collection begin on November 10, 2026, at 10am local time. Customers can order through PlayStation’s online store where available and participating retailers.
The accessories are scheduled to launch starting February 4, 2027. However, exact release dates and availability may differ by region.
Sony has not confirmed an Indian launch date or local pricing. Therefore, Indian buyers should check official PlayStation channels for regional updates.
Transparent gaming accessories make a comeback
Transparent electronics became popular during the late 1990s and early 2000s. At the time, manufacturers released see-through gaming accessories and consoles that revealed parts of their internal hardware.
