Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is now available, bringing free content inspired by the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Developer CD Projekt Red has introduced new quests, dual-wielding combat, cyberware customisation and cross-platform mod support, giving players more ways to explore Night City.

The Edgerunners 2 Update launched on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with additional platform availability following the initial release. The update is free for owners of the base game and does not require the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 introduces dual-wielding

One of the biggest additions in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is a new dual-wielding combat style. Players can equip two Power-category pistols or revolvers simultaneously, opening up new ways to approach firefights.

The feature comes with the Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree and four supporting perks. Players can build their characters around the new combat style to create a more aggressive approach to encounters.

The update also adds new poses to Photo Mode, allowing players to capture images showcasing their dual-wielding weapons.

New Edgerunners 2 quest and gear

The update introduces a new side quest called Clampdown, set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Players can unlock it after completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, followed by a message from her.

Completing the quest rewards players with a five-piece gear set inspired by King, a character from the anime. The update also adds a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, featuring music from the Edgerunners series.

These additions connect the game more closely to the new anime while giving returning players fresh activities to discover.

Cyberware customisation gets more options

CD Projekt Red has expanded character customisation through new Glamdoc vendors. Players can visit five locations across Night City to customise the appearance of their hand cyberware.

The system offers 40 cyberware styles, including cosmetic options for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System. Players can change colours and decals to personalise their implants.

The update also adds new clothing sets and makes some hairstyles previously restricted to non-player characters available for V.

Cross-platform mod support arrives

Another major feature is cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install selected community-created modifications through the game’s in-game menu on supported platforms.

The feature is designed to make player-created content more accessible without requiring users to manage every modification separately. CD Projekt Red says more mods will become available over time.

Update 2.5 also adds a field-of-view slider on consoles, improves save organisation and introduces additional filters for apartment and vehicle storage.

Graphics and performance improvements

The update brings several technical improvements, including DLSS 4.5 support and enhancements aimed at ray tracing and PlayStation 5 Pro performance.

Compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors also receive support for glasses-free 3D effects, while the game gains additional HDR improvements and other rendering adjustments.

These changes accompany a range of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements intended to make the overall experience smoother.

Cyberpunk 2077 continues expanding Night City

The Edgerunners 2 Update gives Cyberpunk 2077 another substantial free content release several years after its original launch. By combining anime-inspired missions with new combat mechanics, customisation options and mod support, CD Projekt Red is providing returning players with additional reasons to revisit Night City.

Players who own the base game can access the free update without purchasing Phantom Liberty. Availability on individual platforms may vary as the rollout continues.
