Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has reportedly generated an estimated $630 million in pre-order revenue ahead of its highly anticipated launch. Market intelligence firm Sensor Tower estimates that players have already pre-ordered approximately 6.45 million copies across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed these figures.
GTA 6 pre-orders cross 6 million copies
According to Sensor Tower’s estimates, GTA 6 had sold around 6.45 million copies through pre-orders as of October 20, 2026. These purchases generated approximately $630 million in estimated consumer spending.
The PlayStation 5 accounted for the largest share of pre-orders. Sensor Tower estimates that players purchased around 4.8 million copies for PS5, generating approximately $468 million. Meanwhile, Xbox Series X|S accounted for an estimated 1.66 million copies and $162 million in spending.
These figures remain third-party estimates rather than official sales results. However, they offer an indication of the demand surrounding one of the most anticipated video games of the year.
Rockstar has yet to confirm pre-order figures
Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have not publicly confirmed GTA 6’s total pre-order sales.
However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously described the game’s pre-order performance as exceptional. He also said demand had exceeded expectations in an interview with CNBC, according to Gadgets 360.
The game is available in Standard and Ultimate editions. The US prices reported for these editions are $79.99 and $99.99, respectively. The different editions and platform mix may influence the revenue estimates.
GTA 6 release date and platforms
Rockstar Games has scheduled GTA 6 for release on November 19, 2026. The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company has not announced a confirmed PC release date.
The upcoming title returns players to Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida. Its story follows protagonists Jason and Lucia as they become caught in a criminal conspiracy.
With launch day approaching, GTA 6’s pre-order performance is drawing attention across the gaming industry. The actual sales figures will become clearer when Rockstar or Take-Two releases official results.
